Arranged and guided by Collette Vacations

Escorted by Doug Jackson

Tour some of America's most colourful and spectacular scenery! We travel through Arizona, Utah, and Nevada visiting Scottsdale, Oak Creek Canyon, Kaibab National Forest, the Grand Canyon, Lake Powell, Monument Valley, Bryce Canyon, Zion Canyon, and finish in dazzling Las Vegas.

Day 1, Monday, September 30 (home to Scottsdale)
Following our at home pickup service, we transfer to the Vancouver Airport and board our flight to Phoenix, Arizona. Arriving in Phoenix we transfer by motorcoach to Scottsdale and check-in for two nights at the Courtyard by Marriott Scottsdale, ideally located within a short walking distance to Scottsdale's vibrant Old Town, with its myriad of shops, restaurants, and entertainment.

Day 2, Tuesday, October 1 (Scottsdale, local tour)
Today we begin with a guided tour of Scottsdale and Phoenix, enjoying views of downtown Phoenix, Camelback Mountain, and Paradise Valley. After a stop for lunch and browsing in Old Town Scottsdale, the rest of the day is at leisure to continue exploring, or enjoy the amenities of our hotel. Meals BD

Day 3, Wednesday, October 2 (Scottsdale - Sedona - Grand Canyon)
This morning we depart Scottsdale and travel to the beautiful city of Sedona, nestled between Oak Creek Canyon and Red Rock State Park, where the rock formations seem to change hue with every turn in the road. We enjoy a stop in Sedona for lunch and browsing and then continue through Kaibab National Forest to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. Tonight's home within Grand Canyon National Park is at the Grand Canyon National Park Lodges. Meals BD

Day 4, Thursday, October 3 (Grand Canyon to Lake Powell)
This morning we explore the Grand Canyon and enjoy amazing views as we drive along the South Rim. Departing the canyon we enter the Navajo Indian Reservation and stop for lunch and browsing at the Cameron Trading Post, which for years has been a haven for travellers, coming to see the wonder of the Grand Canyon. Continuing north through mesa-studded scenery, we check-in for two nights at the Lake Powell Resort, in its stunning location, overlooking the sparkling waters of Lake Powell. Meals BD

Day 5, Friday, October 4 (Lake Powell, visit Monument Valley)
Today, following a breakfast cruise on Lake Powell, we journey to Monument Valley, a sacred Navajo land featuring colourful sandstone spires that rise hundreds of feet from the valley floor. As beautiful as it is barren, this landscape was the setting for the films, Stagecoach, How the West was Won, and Back to the Future II. During an exciting Jeep tour, narrated by a Navajo tribe member, we stop at a Hogan (Navajo hut) and learn of its history and symbolism, representing every aspect of Navajo life. We return to Lake Powell for an evening at leisure. Meals BD

Day 6, Saturday, October 5 (Lake Powell-Bryce Canyon-Zion Canyon)
Today we begin with a visit to Utah's Bryce Canyon National Park, where erosion has sculpted some of the earth's most colourful rocks into pillars called Hoodoos – truly one of the scenic wonders of the world! Iron-oxidizing within the rock causes the natural orange and red hues that colour the formations. Continuing to Springdale Utah, our home for two nights is the Holiday Inn Express Zion Park Inn. Meals

Day 7, Sunday, October 6 (Zion Canyon, tram tour & leisure time)
In sheer magnitude and colour, few places on earth match the beauty of Zion National Park's red and white sandstone cliffs. This morning we board an open-air tram and truly experience spectacular scenery as we wind alongside the Virgin River through the 2400 foot deep, one half mile wide Zion Canyon. This afternoon is at leisure to explore the park independently. Meals B

Day 8, Monday, October 7 (Zion Canyon to Las Vegas, Nevada)
Leaving Zion, we enter Nevada and trade nature's beauty for the glitz and glamour of Las Vegas. With its four miles of neon-lit resorts and around-the-clock action, the Las Vegas strip is like nowhere else on earth. We check-in for two nights, on the strip, at the Paris Las Vegas Hotel & Casino. Meals BD

Day 9, Tuesday, October 8 (Las Vegas, a day at leisure)
Following a morning walking tour along the strip, the rest of the day is at leisure to relax, sit by the pool, or explore on your own. Tonight we complete our tour with a farewell dinner. Meals BD

Day 10, Wednesday, October 9 (Las Vegas to home)
After breakfast, we transfer to the Las Vegas Airport and board our flight to Vancouver. Transfers included to home from the Vancouver Airport. Meals
