Our adventure begins with a four-night stay in the heart of exciting New York City. With shopping, sightseeing, and entertainment we experience the city that never sleeps! Highlights include two Broadway shows, Greenwich Village, Wall Street, the 9/11 Memorial, the Statue of Liberty, and Ellis Island.
Sailing from New York Harbor, we embark on a ten-night voyage aboard Holland America's Zuiderdam, to behold the fall colours of New England and Atlantic Canada. Following ports-of-call at Boston, Bar Harbor, Halifax, Sydney, and Charlottetown; we cruise up the St Lawrence River, make a port-of-call in the Saguenay Fjord, and continue to charming Quebec City.
Day 1, Monday September 25 (home to Vancouver airport)
This afternoon, following our at-home-pickup-service, we transfer to Richmond for an overnight stay and dinner at a Vancouver Airport hotel. Meals D
Day 2, Tuesday September 26 (fly to New York City)
This morning we transfer to the Vancouver Airport for our 9am non-stop flight with Air Canada to New York City. Our home for four nights, in the heart of the city, is the Sheraton New York Times Square.
Day 3, Wednesday September 27 (New York touring)
This morning, during our guided tour of the Big Apple, we'll see Greenwich Village, the Wall Street district, Little Italy, Chinatown, the Empire State building, Central Park, St Paul's Chapel in lower Manhattan, and other time-honoured landmarks. This afternoon we visit the 9/11 Memorial, and then we may choose to visit either the 9/11 Museum, or the One World Observatory, which offers spectacular city views from the 110th floor of the One World Trade Center. For tonight's Diner's Choice dinner, we each choose a restaurant from a selection of popular Times Square locations. After dinner we enjoy a Broadway Show, which we each choose from a selection of Broadway hits. Meals BD
Day 4, Thursday September 28 (New York touring)
Today begins with a fun-filled breakfast, featuring singing wait staff at the 50's-themed Ellen's Stardust Diner. Following breakfast, we embark on a voyage to Ellis Island, which received more than 12 million people on journeys of immigration. Passing Liberty Island, we get a close up view of the Statue of Liberty, a global symbol of freedom, that has welcomed immigrants and visitors to New York Harbor since 1886. This afternoon, leaving behind the hustle and bustle of Midtown, we ride the subway to Greenwich Village, and emerge into a different world of specialty shops, sidewalk cafes, parks, art galleries, and trendy restaurants. We join a local guide and discover the neighbourhood, with stories of its bohemian reputation, artsy culture, and eclectic architecture. We sit down for a traditional family-style dinner of tasty appetizers, hearty main courses, and the famous Rocco's cannoli dessert, before re-boarding the subway for our ride back to Midtown. Day 5, Friday September 29 (New York touring)
This morning is at leisure to explore on our own. You may want to check out the famous department stores such as Macy's, Bloomingdale's, or Saks Fifth Avenue. This afternoon, the curtain rises for our second Broadway show. Tonight we complete our New York visit with dinner at a local restaurant. Meals BD
Day 6, Saturday September 30 (cruise departs New York)
Following a leisurely morning, we transfer to Holland America's MS Zuiderdam. Departing New York Harbor at 8pm we begin an exciting ten-night voyage through magnificent natural scenery, as we sail northeast along along the coast with ports-of-call at Boston, Bar Harbor, Halifax, Sydney, and Charlottetown. Cruising up the St Lawrence River, we make a port-of-call in the Saguenay Fjord, and continuing to charming Quebec City. Grandly proportioned and designed to offer guests an extra measure of space, the Zuiderdam carries fewer passengers than other ships in her class. At 82,300 tons and 936 feet, the ship carries 1964 passengers and a crew of 817. Christened in 2002 and refurbished in 2015, the Zuiderdam features wide teak decks, a three-storey atrium, spacious staterooms, elegant dining, casual dining, complimentary 24-hour in-room dining, multiple lounges, a showroom with nightly entertainment, a casino, a movie theatre, pools and hot tubs, a fitness centre and spa, a beauty salon, an art gallery, a shopping arcade, and much more. Our ship will provide daily information for activities, dining, and entertainment. Holland America Line may change schedules and ports of call due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. Day 7, Sunday October 1 (Cruising, a day at sea)

Day 8, Monday October 2 (Cruising, visit Boston, Massachusetts)
Today our ship is scheduled to dock from 8am to 5pm in historic Boston, Massachusetts. This morning, during our included shore excursion we'll view the city's highlights of Back Bay, Newbury Street, the Public Garden, the Boston Common, Beacon Hill, the Massachusetts State House, and Copley Square bordered by the architectural wonders of Trinity Church and the Boston Public Library. Following leisure time at Quincy Market, our coach returns to the ship in time for lunch. If you prefer, you may stay in town longer and return to the ship on your own. Meals BLD
Day 9, Tuesday October 3 (Cruising, visit Bar Harbor, Maine)
Today our ship is scheduled to anchor from 7am to 4pm off Bar Harbor, Maine. Reaching shore by ship's tender, we include an excursion to Acadia National Park, featuring one of the most scenic drives on the east coast. The 27-mile Park Loop Road, takes us along the ocean's edge past Sand Beach, Schooner Head Overlook, and the landmark High Seas Mansion. We travel through pine forests, past the Jordan Pond House, Otter Cliffs, and the Gulf of Maine enjoying beautiful views of the Penobscot Mountains, Bubbles Hill, and the offshore islands. Returning to Bar Harbor, we pass through the quaint town to view some of the charming Victorian mansions built by America's rich and famous at the turn of the 20th century. You may return to the ship for lunch, or linger ashore to browse the shops and sample some of the local seafood. Meals BLD
Day 10, Wednesday October 4 (Cruising, visit Halifax, Nova Scotia)
Welcome to Atlantic Canada! Today we sail into Halifax Harbour, one of the largest natural harbours in the world. Our ship is scheduled to dock from 9am to 5pm in downtown Halifax. Although many of the city's attractions are within walking distance, you might consider Holland America's optional double-decker bus pass. This full-day hop-on-hop-off pass gives you the choice of staying on the bus for a fully guided city tour, or getting off to explore at your leisure, at any or all of the stops, such as the Halifax citadel, the Public Gardens, the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic, Province House, and the waterfront shops of Historic Properties. Using your pass you may go back to the ship for lunch, and return to the city whenever you like. Holland America also offers a variety of optional shore excursions to places such as Peggy's Cove and Lunenburg. Meals BLD
Day 11, Thursday October 5 (Cruising, visit Sydney, Nova Scotia)
Continuing our Nova Scotia visit, we sail into Cape Breton Island's Port of Sydney, where our ship is scheduled to dock from 9am to 5pm, at the downtown cruise terminal, right next to the world's largest fiddle. The morning is at leisure to stroll into town and explore on your own, or choose one of Holland America's optional shore excursions to nearby Baddeck, Fortress Louisbourg, or the Cabot Trail. This afternoon we include a shore excursion to Spirit of the Fiddle, which celebrates the traditional music of Cape Breton, infused with Scottish, Irish, and Acadian influences, as local entertainers sing, step dance, and play the lively fiddle. Day 12, Friday October 6 (Cruising, visit Charlottetown, PEI)
Today we visit Charlottetown, capital city of Prince Edward Island. Scheduled to dock from 8am to 5pm, just a few steps from Charlottetown's pedestrian-friendly downtown, we have the day at leisure to explore on our own. Day 13, Saturday October 7 (Cruising the Gulf of St Lawrence)
Today we cruise the Gulf of St Lawrence, and begin our journey up the St Lawrence River, toward Quebec City. We enjoy a leisurely day to explore our ship, enjoy its amenities, and its multitude of retreats where you can still carve out a private space. Meals BLD
Day 14, Sunday October 8 (Cruising, visit Saguenay, Quebec)
Entering the mouth of the Saguenay River, our ship winds through one of the longest fjords in the world, to dock from 8am to 5pm in the quaint waterfront town of Saguenay. We enjoy an included shore excursion to La Fabuleuse, an exhilarating live stage show, which brings to the stage 200 local actors, and features the history of the Saquenay region from 1603 to the present. Holland America also offers a variety of optional hiking, kayaking, and sightseeing shore excursions. Returning to the St Lawrence River, our ship continues toward Quebec City. Meals BLD
Day 15, Monday October 9 (Cruising, visit Quebec City)
This morning at 8am our ship reaches its final destination, docking in Quebec City, beneath the stately Chateau Frontenac, the city's best-known landmark. During this morning's included excursion we explore the city sights, and enjoy tea and pastries at the legendary Chateau Frontenac. This afternoon is at leisure to absorb the old-world charm and tradition of this 400-year old city, with its fabulous shops, museums, galleries, and long standing reputation as North America's most romantic city. The Lower Town dock and the Upper Town are conveniently connected by stairs, or by the Funiculaire incline railway. The ship remains docked overnight in Quebec City. Meals BLD
Day 16, Tuesday October 10 (transfer by coach to Montreal, fly home)
Following breakfast aboard ship, we disembark and enjoy a scenic drive along the St Lawrence River en-route to Montreal. This afternoon we depart the Montreal Airport aboard Air Canada's non-stop flight to Vancouver. Transfers included to home from the Vancouver Airport. Meals B
