San Antonio Brochure, in panels for web

We immerse ourselves in the sights and sounds of the Christmas season, while strolling along the San Antonio River Walk; a haven of trees, pathways, stone bridges, and glistening water winding through the city center. During this festive season, the River Walk sparkles with millions of decorative lights, illuminating its already charming atmosphere. With its historic missions, River Walk restaurants, Spanish architecture, and a beautiful river centerpiece, San Antonio is often referred to as the American Venice.

Our tour highlights include visits to Mission San Jose, the Alamo, an olive orchard, the LBJ Ranch, German-themed Fredericksburg, the El Mercado Mexican Marketplace, and to nearby Austin - the capital city of Texas. We admire the dazzling Christmas decorations during a riverboat cruise along the San Antonio River Walk. Visiting a working Longhorn cattle ranch, we enjoy a wagon ride and a traditional Texas barbeque!

Our holiday features five nights at the Omni La Mansion del Rio, ideally nestled along the historic San Antonio River Walk. To take advantage of relaxing non-stop flights, a pre-night and a post-night in Seattle are also included.

This afternoon you may choose between a visit to the South Texas Heritage Center, an interactive museum dedicated to sharing the stories of San Antonio's people and the land that shaped their lives; or, you may prefer to explore the 33-acre grounds of the San Antonio Botanical Gardens, featuring expansive rose gardens, a tropical vegetation conservatory, and the Texas Native Trail showcasing the state's diverse ecosystems. This evening at a Longhorn cattle ranch we sip cocktails, take in the sounds of the fiddle while gazing at the sprawling Texas sky, board a small river barge for a nature cruise, enjoy a hay-wagon ride for an up-close view of the Longhorns, and savour some Texas-style barbecue. Our evening closes listening to stories of the Old West, while roasting marshmallows over an open fire. Meals BD
